Beach Volleyball Rules

RULES

  1. Booking & Payment

    All users must pre-book their spot and pay before arriving. No drop-ins permitted. If you arrived and haven’t booked, do so before getting on the court. If you are onsite without being booked, this will result in immediate ban and a $500 fine.

  2. Garbage & Recycling

    Please clean up after yourself. Take all garbage and recyclables with you when you leave. 

  3. Substances

    No alcohol, marijuana, or illegal substances are permitted on-site. This will result in immediate ban and a $500 fine. 

  4. Equipment

    Users must bring their own volleyballs. 

  5. Damage & Maintenance

    If you notice any damage when you arrive, or damage occurs during your booking, report it immediately to: info.aadas@gmail.com 

  6. Vehicles & Trailers

    No vehicles or trailers are allowed on the court without prior written approval from the Arena Committee. 

  7. Smoking

    Smoking is prohibited within the arena and within 5 metres of the volleyball court. Make sure your cigarette butts are completely out and are not thrown on the ground. 

  8. Pets

    No dogs or other animals are allowed inside the court area, or onsite with you. 

  9. Conduct

    Be courteous and respectful to others at all times. Offensive, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated. 

  10. Open Court Use

    Open court time is for casual, public use only. No organized events, clinics, lessons, or group activities are permitted unless you have booked a private rental slot. 

  11. Emergency Access

    Always ensure the entrances to the court and surrounding area remain clear for emergency vehicle access. 

  12. Gate & Lockup

    The last user is responsible for securely closing and chaining the court gate, and locking the main entrance gate upon leaving. We have cameras onsite to monitor this. 

  13. Footwear

    Only bare feet or socks recommended  (no cleats or shoes with aggressive tread) are allowed on the court. 

  14. Weather Policy

    Use of the court is not permitted during lightning storms or other unsafe weather conditions. The Athabasca Ag Society reserves the right to cancel bookings during extreme weather. 

  15. Liability

    All participants use the court at their own risk. The Athabasca Ag Society is not responsible for any lost or stolen items or any injuries sustained while on the premises. 

  16. Court Setup

    Do not move or alter the court setup (nets, boundaries, posts) unless authorized. 

  17. Ages

    Ages 12 and under MUST have an adult with them onsite. All players must have their own pass, signed waivers and have booked times while onsite.

Volleyball at Athabasca Ag Society.

Valid until August 31, 2025  and related events and activities (collectively referred to as the “Event”).    We, the undersigned Participant and the parent(s) and/or guardian(s) of the Participant, are aware that the Event involves inherent risks, dangers and hazards, involving all manner of injury or loss, including potentially serious or life-threatening injury and death, resulting from, but not limited to:: the use of equipment, materials or facilities related to the Event; the actions or negligence of the Participant or other participants in of the Event; the actions or negligence of the Athabasca District Ag Society or its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, invitees, or representatives of any kind (collectively referred to as the “Organization”);  the actions or negligence of the Town of Athabasca or its councilors, officers, employees, agents or representatives of any kind (collectively referred to as the "Municipality"); and any additional risks arising out of the Event and related events and activities.  We, the undersigned Participant and the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant, freely accept and assume all such risks, dangers and hazards and the possibility of injury, death, property damage, property loss or any other loss or expense resulting to the Participant or myself/ourselves.  Further, we, the undersigned Participant, and the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant, hereby agree as follows:  To Waive Any And All Claims of every nature and kind at law or equity or under any statute that I the Participant and/or the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant have or may have in the future against the Organization and/or the Municipality; To Release The Organization and the Municipality from any and all liability for injury, death, property damage, property loss or any other loss or expense that the Participant I may suffer or that their next of kin or legal representatives may suffer as a result of participation in or use of the Event, DUE TO ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT, OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE OWNED UNDER THE OCCUPIERS LIABILITY ACT, RSA 2000, c O-4, as may be amended, on the part of the Organization and/or the Municipality INCLUDING THE ORGANIZATION AND/OR THE MUNICIPALITY’S FAILURE OF THE TO PROTECT THE PARTICIPANT FROM THE RISK, DANGERS AND HAZARDS REFERRED TO ABOVE. To Hold Harmless And Indemnify The Organization and the Municipality from any and all liability for injury, death, property damage, property loss or any other loss or expense to any party, including the Participant and/or the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant, as a result of participation in or use of the Event, or other financial loss or expense including, without restriction, legal expenses and costs on a solicitor-and-his-own-client full indemnity basis in defending against such claims or enforcing the terms contained within this document; and That This Agreement Will Be Effective And Binding Upon the Participant and/or the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant, and  their heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators and assigns.  We, the undersigned Participant and the parent(s) and/or guardian of the Participant, hereby acknowledge that we have read the foregoing, and have had the opportunity to ask questions and clarifications before signing, and have explained its meaning to the Participant.  We acknowledge that we understand its content, import and meaning and hereby do agree, approve and consent to the above.
