About the event
Rick Smith worked 25yrs as a guide and packer for the Brewster Mountain Pack trains and Holiday on Horseback, taking guests on 6-9 day expedition trips in Banff National Park, moving camp daily. In 2003, Rick accepted the position of Ranch manager at the Ya Ha Tinda Ranch, the Parks Canada facility for training horses and staff to safely patrol the backcountry of Banff national park. Rick filled this position until 2021, when he retired and moved to Athabasca. Rick has had extensive experience, packing horses and traveling the vast mountainous back country, as well as instructing and mentoring new parks Canada and outfitting staff.
